Glitz Africa Magazine announces the Glitz Style Awards!

Fashion fades, style is eternal. Style is expressing who you are without having to say a word. The word style today is used in several contexts and situations.
And hence Glitz Africa, Ghana’s premier lifestyle brand, sought to redefine style by honouring path-breaking personalities who have pioneered their respective fields, be it movies, business or industry.

GLITZ Style Awards is established to celebrate and recognize true inspirational creativity, success and contributions to the Fashion and style industry in Ghana annually.  The strategic focus of the awards is to strengthen the growing Ghana fashion industry through development, promotion and setting international industry standard. This event is an opportunity for the fashion industry to celebrate and promote the extraordinary creative talents in Ghana and Africa as a whole. The ceremony will be a Glitz Africa big night out to see the best of the Ghanaian and international fashion industries joined by a glamorous line-up of guests and presenters.
There will be a selection panel who will form the fashion council to nominate choices in all the categories. The panel will include leading industry insiders, including journalists, buyers, influencers and opinion formers
The Glitz Style Awards will approach over 200 members of the fashion industry to vote for the winners of this year’s accolades. The voting guests will include Ghanaian and international industry insiders including journalists, fashion bloggers, stylists, buyers, influencers and fashion icons. The glamorous evening will see awards presented to the leading figures in fashion, recognizing creative talent and design excellence across all areas of the industry and attended by industry members, including retailers, models, celebrities and media, and few members of the public who will purchase tickets to attend. The general public will have an opportunity to vote on a few of the final category list through text messages.

– Awarded to the most innovative and talented women or men’s wear designer who has demonstrated and sustained passion for originality and diversity

Nigeria Entertainment Awards : Sonia Ibrahim Wins African Actress SHATTERED ROMANCE wins Film of the year ( Full Winners )

The annual Nigerian Entertainment Awards held its 2015 edition last night at the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts, New York.
The Ibrahim sisters won two awards .Sonia Ibrahim, the younger sister of actress Juliet Ibrahim, won ”African Actress of the Year ” whiles Juliet Ibrahim’s self produced movie ”Shattered Romance” African Film of the Year respectively.
According to sources this year’s event didn’t see as much crowd as the previous years and some of the categories such as song of the year was not announced as at the time of the end of the event.

Stonebwoy buries mother.

Mrs. Catherine Satekla died on Wednesday July 29,2015 at the 37 Military Hospital where she was receiving treatment after collapsing the previous Sunday.



 
DanceHall artiste, Stonebwoy’s late mother was laid to rest earlier today.
Mrs. Catherine Satekla died on Wednesday July 29,2015 at the 37 Military Hospital where she was receiving treatment after collapsing the previous Sunday.

On August 8,2015, Stonebwoy held a free concert at Mandela Park, Ashiaman dedicated to her memory. He also dedicated his BET Best International Africa Act to her.






The award was initially dedicated to the victims of the flood and fire incident on June 3.
Family and friends have revealed the award winning singer “is holding up quite well.”

Anita Erskine covers latest edition of Event guide Magazine

New cinema, Global Cinemas to open in Accra with worldwide premiere of “Transporter

 

 

The multi-purpose and luxurious Global Cinemas has three state-of-the-art cinema halls with a combined seating capacity of over 500, and is poised to offer premium viewing experiences to cinemagoers. The world-class entertainment facility will offer movies in both 3D and 2D, with Dolby Surround Sound, plush seating, and concessions such as hotdogs, nachos, popcorn, chips, sweets and various drinks.
